THIS YEAR: Junior Abby McGuyre enters her third season at Azusa Pacific looking to build on a strong sophomore campaign in which she took on a much larger role for the Cougars … Expected to continue developing into a key contributor and provide a strong presence in the Cougars’ front-row rotation. 

2025 (sophomore): Appeared in 19 matches as a 2025 sophomore, more than tripling her match total from her freshman season, and played in 48 sets … Finished the season with 22 kills, 34 total blocks, 12 digs, 4 service aces and 2 assists … Had a career-high 5 kills against Texas-Permian Basin and matched that total the following day in a Cougar win over Cal State Monterey Bay … Hit .500 (5-8-1) against Texas-Permian Basin and added a career-best 5 total blocks against Texas Woman’s.

2024 (freshman): Appeared in 6 matches for the 15-12 Cougars as a 2024 freshman, coming off the bench each time … Played in 9 sets and totaled 2 kills, 3 block assists, 3 total blocks, and 1 dig … Best outing came against Chaminade with a season-high 2 kills on 8 attempts without an attack error for a .250 attack percentage. 

HIGH SCHOOL:  Played 2 seasons of varsity volleyball for Head Coaches Jeff Ornee and Karly Burhardt at Valley Christian High in Cerritos, Calif. ... Was an ALL-CIF selection, First Team All-Olympic League honoree and team MVP … Led the Defenders to a pair of CIF Southern Second Division 4 playoff appearances, including the 2023 quarterfinals when VCHS fashioned a 17-11 record. 

PERSONAL:  Birthday is Jan. 19 ... Parents are Brent and Jill McGuyre … Has 2 younger sisters, Whitney and Scarlet … Majoring in liberal studies ... Played for Seal Beach Volleyball Club.
