Biography

THIS YEAR:  Jordan Hammond is a fifth-year grad transfer from Northwest Missouri State who teams with the Warwick twins and Alysa Henry to give the Cougars an outstanding set of heptathletes … Should also factor in the sprints.

NORTHWEST MISSOURI STATE:  Competed for 3 seasons at NCAA Division II Northwest Missouri State in Marysville, Mo., where she set the school records in the 60-meter hurdles (8.57), 100-meter hurdles (13.99) and 400-meter hurdles (58.77) … A 2-time NCAA All-American and 5-time NCAA qualifier … As a 2019 junior, finished fifth in the NCAA outdoors 400 hurdles with a 1:01.24 … As a 2018 sophomore, ran the record-setting 58.77 to finish as the runner-up in the NCAA outdoor 400 hurdles … In 2019 won the Texas A&M-Kingsville Cactus Cup heptathlon with a personal-best 4,677 points … Tallied a personal-best 3,717 points in the pentathlon at the 2020 Bearcat Open, hosted by Northwest Missouri State … In 2018, won the Midwest Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA).

HIGH SCHOOL:  Ran 4 seasons of track & field at Park Hill South High in Riverside, Mo., where she was a sprinter and hurdler … As a 2015 senior advanced to the Missouri Class 5 state championships in the 300 hurdles where she finished seventh (45.29) … Clocked a PR of 44.72 to win the District 8 crown … Also recorded PRs of 26.06 in the 200 meters and 58.64 in the 400 meters.

PERSONAL:  Born Feb. 26, 1997, to John Hammond and Lisa Brooks ... Has one younger sister (Alexandra).
