THIS YEAR: A solid sprinter with experience, junior college transfer Alycia Turner is a strong addition to the Cougars’ sprint corps … Will be an excellent member on the Cougars’ relay team and figures to be a factor on the conference level.
JUNIOR COLLEGE: Spent 2 years at Saddleback College in Mission Viejo, Calif., running for Head Coach Mark Blethen … Appeared in 14 meets, including 3 during her COVID-shortened 2020 sophomore campaign … Clocked career bests of 12.52 in the 100 meters, 25.54 in the 200, and 60.31 in the 400, all during her 2019 freshman season … Ran the anchor on the Gauchos’ 4x400-meter relay that finished fourth at the 2019 state community college championship meet in San Mateo, Calif., with a 4:01.07 … Two weeks earlier, at the state regional meet, ran anchor on a 3:58.87 relay, the second fastest time in school history.
HIGH SCHOOL: Ran 4 seasons of track & field at Aliso Niguel High in Aliso Viejo, Calif., serving two seasons as team captain … Recorded personal bests of 12.32 in the 100 meters, 25.00 in the 200, both during her 2017 junior season ... Qualified 3 years for the CIFs … Was the Sea View League champ in the 100 (12.32) as a 2017 junior … Also lettered in basketball (center).
