THIS YEAR: Azusa Pacific's top returning offensive player, senior Alexandra Akritidou spearheads what should be a strong and versatile Cougar offense ... Could push for conference postseason honors.
2024: Transferred to Azusa Pacific from fellow conference member Loyola Marymount to take advantage of the additonal year offer to DII athletes for the 2020 pandemic and play 2 years for the Cougars ... Put together a fine 2024 junior campaign in which she received All-Golden Coast Conference honorable mention ... Was second on the team in both goals (46) and points (78) and was third in steals (34) ... Played in all 29 games, scoring in 21 of them ... Had 13 multi-goal games, including 7 hat tricks ... Scored a season-high 4 goals in 5 different games ... Had 4 goals on 6 shots in an 11-10 loss to CSUN in Redlands ... Had 4 goals in another 11-10 loss at San Diego State ... Had 2 goals, including the game-clincher to help APU rally from a 7-3 deficit to beat Concorida 10-8 ... Had 6 points with 3 goals and 3 assists in a surprising 14-8 victory over No. 17-ranked Pacific for the Cougars' first-ever win over UOP.
LMU: Spent 4 years at Loyola Marymount from where she graduated, playing 3 seasons and redshirting another ... In her 3 years with the Lions, appeared in 76 games and scored 68 goals to go along with 87 assists while helping lead the Lions to a 41-32 record in that time ... In 2023, tallied 37 points on 27 goals and 10 assists to go along with 12 steals ... Led the team with 18 drawn exclusions ... Had 20 goals in 28 games when helping LMU go 16-12 in 2022 ... As a 2020 freshman, was fifth on the team with 21 goals.
PERSONAL: Born Sept. 7, 2001, in Athens, Greece, to Manolis and Natalia Akritidou ... Has an older brother (Konstantinos) ... Currently working on her MBA at Azusa Pacific ... Would like to work in the pharmaceutical industry following graduation.
