THIS YEAR: After spending 2 seasons behind All-American Melissa Strother, junior Tiffany Mitchell is ready to earn the starting spot between the pipes … Will have to fend off a strong charge from the freshman Colfer but has quality experience … Has good reactions and is very athletic.
2003: Saw a significant increase in playing time while backing up Strother … Appeared in 7 games while starting the first 5 games of the season … Posted 4 straight shutouts to open the season and made 27 saves … Was 3-0-2 in her appearances with a 0.33 goals against average after allowing 2 goals in 539 minutes of action … Posted wins over NCAA Division I Long Beach State, the NAIA’s No. 11-ranked Simon Fraser (B.C.) and No. 19 John Brown (Ark.) … Also made 5 saves in 24 minutes against eventual NAIA champion Westmont.
