CAREER HIGHLIGHTS: Senior forward Theresa Broad wrapped up her 4-year career as the only player in Azusa Pacific women’s soccer history to be named NAIA All-American first team all 4 seasons of her career, and she is just the second player in GSAC history to earn back-to-back conference player of the year honors … Was also a 2-time Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athlete recipient … Helped Azusa Pacific match its most successful 4-year run in program history, with 77 wins, 4 conference championships and a pair of trips to the NAIA championship game—a list of achievements unsurpassed during any 4-year stretch in program history.
2009 (Senior): Picked up fourth straight NAIA All-American first team honors and was named GSAC Player of the Year for a second straight year … Led the GSAC in points and goals for the fourth straight season, scoring 16 goals with 3 assists for 35 points … Scored in 10 different matches, including 5 game-winning goals … Notched a career-high 5 goals in a 6-0 win over Trinity International (Ill.), part of a 4-game stretch in which she scored 8 times … Earned NAIA All-Tournament honors after scoring in back-to-back national tournament wins over Maine-Fort Kent and Indiana Wesleyan, part of the Cougars’ run to its eighth NAIA semifinals appearance in the past 12 years.
2008 (Junior): Earned NAIA All-American first team recognition for the third consecutive season and was named GSAC Player of the Year ... Became just the second Cougar ever to post 3 consecutive 20-goal seasons, matching her single-season career high with 24 goals ... With 9 assists, also set a new personal single-season best of 57 points ... Put away 9 game-winning goals, 6 of them in GSAC play to lead the Cougars to their fourth straight conference title ... Was the conference's runaway scoring leader, tallying 19 of her 20 regular-season goals in a 10-game stretch early in the season ... Posted a pair of career-high 4-goal performances in wins over Bethel (Tenn.) and San Diego Christian.
2007 (Sophomore): Named first team NAIA All-American as well as earning all-GSAC honors … Led the GSAC in goals (22) and points (50) for the second consecutive year … Scored 8 game-winning goals for the Cougars … Registered 6 multiple-goal matches include 2 hat tricks … Scored 3 goals in a 2-minute span and added an assist 2 minutes later in a 4-1 win over California Baptist in the Region II finals …Named the NAIA Outstanding Offensive Player of the Tournament after scoring 10 points with 4 goals in tournament action ... Finished the season with 6 assists.
2006 (Freshman): Named NAIA Region II Player of the Year en route to earning NAIA All-American first team honors … Also named All-GSAC after leading the conference in goals (24) and points (56) … Ranked second in the GSAC in assists, setting up 8 additional Cougar goals … Came within 2 goals of tying Azusa Pacific’s single-season scoring record … Scored 7 goals and assisted another to lead the Cougars to 4-goal victories over all 3 NAIA Region II playoff foes … Scored or assisted 2 or more goals in 10 straight games … Twice recorded hat tricks to lead Azusa Pacific to 4-0 victories over The Master’s and Menlo.
HIGH SCHOOL: Played 4 varsity seasons of soccer for coach Jose Ramirez at Western Christian High in Covina … Also ran track as a 2006 senior … Led the Lancers to a share of the CIF-Southern Section Division VI championship, the first CIF soccer title in school history … Shattered Western Christian’s season scoring record, collecting 42 goals and 27 assists as a 2006 senior … Named the 2006 San Gabriel Valley Tribune girls soccer Player of the Year, in addition to Christian League MVP and CIF Defensive Player of the Year honors … A 2-time selection to the All-CIF and All-Christian League first teams … As a 2005 junior, scored 34 goals … Scored the game-winning goal in overtime of a 2-1 victory over Desert Christian in the CIF quarterfinal round, then tallied 2 goals to lead the Lancers to a 3-1 win over Maranatha in the CIF semifinals … Scored 3 or more goals in 7 games her senior year, with 6 additional 2-goal games … Was the 2006 Christian League track champion in the 400m, 800m and 3200m … Finished fifth in the 800m and eighth in the 400m at the 2006 CIF championships.
