THIS YEAR: After 2 seasons away from the soccer field, senior Taryn Apo returns for her first intercollegiate action since her 2003 freshman campaign … Expected to see regular playing time and add scoring punch in the midfield and at forward.

2004: Attended Azusa Pacific but did not play.
2003: Appeared in 9 games as a 2003 freshman … Had 2 shots, 1 each in shutout wins over Fresno Pacific and The Master’s.
HIGH SCHOOL: Played 4 varsity seasons for head coach Kawika Keator at state power Baldwin High in Wailuku, Hawaii … Led the Bears to a combined 56-3-2 mark, 4 straight Maui Interscholastic League (MIL) championships and a pair of state championships … Was a 3-time MIL All-Star selection, including first team honors as a 2001 sophomore … Was also a key 3-year member of the Baldwin High surf team, finishing second in the MIL surfing championships as a 2002 junior … Finished in the top 3 of numerous surfing competitions throughout high school, including a second-place finish at the 2002 Local Motion Lahaina Surf Classic Open Women’s Longboard competition, an event she went on to win in 2004.
PERSONAL: Born April 29, 1985 to Jan and Kelly Apo in Wailuku, Hawaii … Has 1 sister (Megan) … Her cousin, Todd Apo, played football and baseball at Brown University … Graduated magna cum laude from Baldwin High and was named Who’s Who Among American High School Students … Received the President’s Award for Educational Excellence … Majoring in communication with an emphasis in journalism … An accomplished surfer, won first place in 2 competitions on the same day in 2004, the Open Women’s Longboard at the Local Motion Lahaina Surf Classic and first place in junior women at the Ole Longboard Classic.
