Biography
THIS YEAR: After starting all 22 games for a Cougar defense that allowed just 9 total goals for the second straight season, senior Julie Fletcher returns to anchor the back for what could be one of the finest defenses in Azusa Pacific history … Is one of the most aggressive and fearless players on the field … Is a feisty, hard-working player … Has a knack for creating problems for defenders and changing the complexion of games.
2005: Named to the All-GSAC team for her outstanding season … Started all 22 games in the central defense for the Cougars … Helped the defense limit opponents to only 9 goals … Aided the Cougars’ defense as they recorded 14 shutouts … Took 2 shots.
2004: Saw action in 17 games overall including 1 start … Scored in the 67th minute to give the Cougars a lead they would not relinquish in a 2-0 win over The Master’s (Oct. 6) … Helped lead the team to a 4-0 win over Point Loma Nazarene in her only start of the season (Oct. 30) … Took 10 shots.
2003: Sat out the 2003 season while recovering from knee surgery.
2002: Appeared in 15 games, all in reserve as a 2002 true freshman … Scored a goal and assisted on another … Took 12 shots … Scored her first collegiate goal in the Cougars’ GSAC-opening win over California Baptist … Tallied an assist in the win over The Master’s.

PERSONAL: Born July 8, 1984, in West Covina, Calif. to Kathleen Bacer … Has 2 sisters (Marie, Jennie) … Her mother, Kathleen, is the Program Director of the Master of Arts in Educational Technology at Azusa Pacific … Majoring in physical education … Enjoys surfing.
