THIS YEAR: Junior forward Julie Fennel will push for playing time as she enters her third year in the program … Has good speed … Will provide the Cougars with quality depth up front.
2004: Appeared in 14 games all in reserve for the Cougars … Recorded 1 point on an assist in a 6-1 win over Christian Heritage (Oct. 9) … Took 2 shots.
2003: Sat out the 2003 season while attending classes at Azusa Pacific.
2002: Appeared in 5 games, all in reserve as a true freshman … Scored her first collegiate goal on her only shot of the season in the Cougars’ 7-0 win over The Master’s.
HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at First Assembly Christian High in Concord, N.C., for head coach Scott Reitnour … Was a 3-time all-league first team selection … Named all-state as a 2002 senior … Was a 3-time all-league selection in basketball as well as a 2002 all-state pick … Played 2 seasons of volleyball, leading the Eagles to the state championship.
PERSONAL: Born Dec. 28, 1983, in St. Paul, Minn., to Arne and Marcine Fennel … Has 2 brothers (Geoff and Adam) and one sister (Alicia) … Went on several missions trips to Germany, Philippines, Zambia, Sweden and Denmark … Majoring in athletic training.
