THIS YEAR: Senior Jolie Nitta returns as a 4-year starter to lead the Cougar midfield … One of the top all-around players on the roster … Has a high skill level in all aspects … Is special on the ball … Reads the game exceptionally well.
2005: Bounced back from an injury plagued sophomore season to start all 22 games … Finished third on the team with 12 points … Tallied 4 goals and 4 assists … Each of her goals were game-winners … Picked up 3 points with a goal and an assist in a 2-0 win over Concordia in the opening round of the Region II playoffs … Scored the Cougars’ first goal of the NAIA Tournament in a 3-0 win over Indiana Wesleyan … Also tallied the first goal of the season in the opener, a 2-1 win over Calvin (Mich.) … Tallied assists against Chapman, Hope International and Fresno Pacific.
2004: Started 7 of the 8 games in which she appeared … Totaled 6 points by scoring 3 goals during the season … Scored in 3 of the Cougars’ first 4 games … Had goals in the opening back-to-back matches against St. Mary (Neb.) and Malone (Ohio) … Scored a game-winner on a penalty kick in the 39th minute to beat Malone (Ohio) 1-0 … Collected her third goal in a 5-0 win over Grand Canyon (Ariz.) HIGH SCHOOL: Played 4 varsity seasons at Mililani High for head coach James Uson … Named Honolulu Advertiser and Honolulu Star Bulletin all-state first team … Was the Ohau Interscholastic Association West Co-Player of the Year … Led the Trojans to back-to-back state finals appearances, including a 2002 Hawaii State championship … As a 2001 junior, named Honolulu Star Bulletin all-state first team, Honolulu Advertiser all-state second team and OIA West first team in leading Mililani to a state runner-up finish … Led the Trojans to 4 straight OIA West Division titles … Named All-OIA West second team as a 2000 sophomore.
