CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:  Senior Grace Eleyae didn’t expect to play during the 2008 season, but her return from injury provided a valuable spark off the Cougar bench … Of her 45 career appearances, 18 were postseason contests.
 
2008 (Senior):  Unexpectedly returned from injury to become a valuable reserve, appearing in 13 games … Scored 4 goals and assisted another in her return to the field … Scored a goal and assisted another in her season debut, the Cougars’ GSAC-opening 6-0 win over Fresno Pacific … Made it back-to-back games with a goal in her second appearance, providing a goal off the bench in a 5-1 win over San Diego Christian … Scored a goal in Azusa Pacific’s NAIA Tournament-record 10-goal outburst in a 10-1 opening round win over William Jessup.
 
2007 (Junior):  Was a key reserve during Azusa Pacific’s second straight national runner-up campaign, appearing in 18 contests … Registered 2 assists and put 3 shots on goal … Notched the first point of her career in her first collegiate start, assisting a goal in the Cougars’ 3-0 win over Westmont … Also assisted a goal in the 4-1 win over Northwood (Fla.) in the NAIA quarterfinals.
 
2006 (Sophomore):  Played in 8 contests, including 5 NAIA postseason games … Took 3 shots, putting 2 on goal.
 
2005 (Freshman):  Appeared in 6 games … Used as a reserve in 3 of Azusa Pacific’s 5 postseason contests.
 
HIGH SCHOOL:  Lettered in 3 sports at Don Antonio Lugo High in Chino, playing 3 varsity seasons of soccer for head coach Al Becceril … Also competed 2 seasons in track and field and 1 season of basketball … Helped lead the Conquistadores to a 20-1-1 record as a 2005 senior … Placed third in CIF in the discus and the 4x100m relay as a 2003 sophomore.
 
PERSONAL:  Born March 29, 1987, in Inglewood, Calif., to Matthew and Emilia Eleyae … Has 1 brother (Emmanuel) and 2 sisters (Glory, Angel) … Athletic bloodlines include older brother Emmanuel, who competed in discus and shot put for the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, and grandfather Awoture, who competed for the Nigerian national team in the long jump, javelin, discus and distance running events … Majoring in psychology with a minor in communication … Enjoys playing the piano.
