THIS YEAR: Freshman Gianna Vera begins her first season at Azusa Pacific after a strong prep career at Chino Hills High … A 5-foot-6 outside back/winger, who is expected to add versatility and depth to the Cougar lineup.
HIGH SCHOOL: Played 2 seasons of varsity soccer for Head Coach Louie Borja at powerhouse Chino Hills (Calif.) High … Competed at outside back, center back, winger and center forward for the Huskies … Served as team captain as a 2026 senior … As a 2026 senior, helped Chino Hills go 15-5-4 overall and win the Baseline League championship with a 9-1 slate … Qualified for the CIF Division 1 playoffs … Earned All-Baseline League first team honors, received Defensive Player of the Year recognition and was named a Scholar-Athlete … As a 2025 junior, helped the Huskies go 11-9-4 overall and qualify for the CIF Division 2 playoffs … Earned All-Baseline League second team recognition, and voted team Defensive Player of the Year … Also earned Scholar-Athlete recognition … Played 11 years of club soccer for Legends FC under Head Coach Jason Rosenbery.
