CAREER HIGHLIGHTS: Senior forward Bridget Brotherton wrapped up her 4-year career ranked fourth all-time in career goals and points at Azusa Pacific … Was a key part of the first senior class in program history to win 4 straight GSAC titles … Was a 2-time NAIA All-American, 2-time All-GSAC and 2-time Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athlete recipient.
2008 (Senior): Named NAIA All-American honorable mention, her second career All-American nod … Also earned her second All-GSAC award in addition to picking up Daktronics-NAIA and GSAC Women’s Soccer Scholar Athlete recognition … Registered a career-high 48 points with 18 goals and 12 assists … Was the GSAC’s second-leading scorer, both overall and in GSAC play, scoring 9 goals and assisting 5 more against GSAC opponents … Scored 5 game-winning goals, the most dramatic being an overtime diving header for the golden goal, completing her first career hat trick, in a 4-3 win over Concordia in which the Cougars overcame a 3-1 second-half deficit for the first time in program history … Scored 11 goals over the final 11 games of the season, including the equalizer with 4 minutes left in regulation to force overtime in Azusa Pacific’s 2-1 quarterfinal defeat to Concordia (Ore.).
2007 (Junior): Earned NAIA postseason honors for the second straight season with recognition as a Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athlete … Appeared in 17 games, starting 16 times, despite missing nearly a month of game action due to an injury … Finished tied for third on the team with 7 goals and added 3 assists … Scored the first goal, then assisted Sarah Yoro’s game-winner in the Cougars’ 4-1 NAIA quarterfinal win over Northwood (Fla.) … Scored 2 goals, both on headers, in a season-opening 4-0 win over eventual NAIA quarterfinalist Concordia (Ore.) … Also scored twice in a 5-0 win over Hope International.
2006 (Sophomore): Named NAIA All-American third team and earned All-GSAC recognition … Ranked third in the conference in scoring with 15 goals and fourth in assists with 7 … Scored in 4 straight games, including a trio of 2-goal performances … Scored a goal and assisted 2 goals in each of the Cougars’ first 2 NAIA Region II playoff wins over Menlo and Westmont … Scored both of Azusa Pacific’s goals in a 2-0 win over eventual NAIA Tournament participant Carroll (Mont.).
2005 (Freshman): Appeared in 22 games as a freshman, starting 4 times … Finished second on the team in both points (18) and goals (9) … Tied for ninth in the GSAC in goals … Scored her first goal in her first collegiate game, a 2-1 win over Calvin (Mich.) … Scored goals in the final 4 games of the season including each of the Cougars’ 2 NAIA Tournament games … Had 2 game-winning goals including the only tally in a 1-0 win over Point Loma Nazarene in the Region II championship match.
HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped 4 years at Etiwanda High for Jason Montgomery … Played several different positions for her team including forward, central midfield, and in goal over the course of her career … Served as team captain during her senior season … After being second on her team in scoring as a senior, received multiple honors including an All-Baseline League selection … Was a member of the Inland Valley All Star team … Helped the Eagles reach the CIF quarterfinals … Named All-Baseline League as a 2004 junior … Was a 3-time winner of the Coach’s Award … As a 2003 sophomore, earned All-Baseline League honorable mention after leading the Eagles to a league championship.
