THIS YEAR: One of 5 returnees to the Cougar squad, junior Janelle Santos is looking to use the experience of the past 2 years to develop into a leader and key contributor during her 2024 junior season.
2023: Ran in 3 meets during her 2023 sophomore season, clocking a 6K best of 23:50.2 at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational ... Finished 46th with a 24:08.4 at the PacWest Championships at Woodward Park in Fresno.
2022: As a 2022 freshman, competed in the Cougars' first 3 competitions for the season before shutting down for the second half of the campaign ... Clocked a 6K best 24:13.5 at the Highlander Classic in Riverside. Named Academic All-PacWest.
ON THE TRACK: Has run 2 seasons of track & field at Azusa Pacific, competing in 19 different races ... Has posted lifetime bests of 2:20.15 (800), 4:48.10 (1500), 11:08.07 (3000) and 11:49.19 (steeplechase) ... Best individual showing came as a 2024 sophomore at the PacWest Championships in Santa Barbara where she finished eighth in the steeplechase with a 12:05.56.
