Biography

THIS YEAR:  One of the GSAC’s best, 3-time All-GSAC Lindsey West enters her final campaign as one of the top players in program history … Returns this season healthy after battling a knee injury for much of last season … Has scored 1,306 career points and has a chance to finish in the top-3 on the Cougars’ all-time points list … Is very strong and does tremendous things for her size … Is deceptively quick and a smooth finisher under the basket … Has become a tough match-up for any defender because of her ability to shoot from the perimeter, drive to the basket and score … Can run the floor as well as anyone … Is a relentless rebounder both on the offensive and defensive glass … Leads by example. 

2005: Garnered third consecutive All-GSAC and NAIA All-American honor earning honorable mention while battling through a knee injury … Led the GSAC in field goal percentage (.573) … Started 18 of the 26 games in which she appeared … Was second on the team in scoring (13.3 ppg.) and rebounding (5.8 rpg.) … Led the Cougars in scoring 5 times and rebounding 3 times … Scored in double figures 19 times … Opened the season with 5 consecutive double figure scoring nights … Registered 4 double doubles … Had a season-high 26 points and 7 rebounds in a win over Westminster … Hit the game-winning shot at the buzzer in the Cougars’ 81-80 win over No. 1-ranked Vanguard, the Cougars’ first win ever over a top-ranked team … Scored 16 points and collected 6 rebounds in that game en route to GSAC Player of the Week honors (Jan.31) after also leading the Cougars to a win over Biola … Helped secure the program’s first ever NAIA Tournament win, 93-74, over Brewton-Parker (Ga.) with 17 points and 8 rebounds …  Had 18 points and 11 rebounds in win over Oklahoma City. 

2004: Earned her second straight All-GSAC and her first NAIA All-American honor, being named to the third team … Started all 32 games for the second straight year and led the Cougars in scoring (16.5 avg.) and rebounding (8.0 avg.) … Led the Cougars in scoring 12 times and rebounding 16 times … Reached double figures 26 times, surpassing the 20-point barrier 9 times and the 30-point plateau 3 times … Scored in double-figures in 15 straight games from Dec. 6 to Feb. 10 raising her average from 13.0 to 17.2 … Had 7 double-doubles … Named NAIA and GSAC Player of the Week (Jan. 26) after averaging 27.5 points and 8.0 rebounds in wins over California Baptist (32 points, 12 rebounds) and Westmont (23 points, 5 rebounds) … Scored a career-high 37 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in a win over La Sierra … Hit 7-of-15 shots from the floor and 16-of-18 from the free throw line in scoring 30 points against Biola … Scored 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds against North Georgia State at the NAIA Tournament. 

2003: Was the only freshman selected to the All-GSAC team and received NAIA All-American honorable mention … One of 2 Cougars to start all 32 contests … Led the team and was 13th in the GSAC in scoring (13.6 avg.) and was tenth in the GSAC in rebounding (7.0 avg.) … Was second in the GSAC in field goal percentage (.594) … Grabbed 98 offensive rebounds, which was fourth best in the GSAC … Also had 43 steals, 36 assists and 8 blocked shots … Raised her averages to 15.9 points and 7.3 rebounds, shooting .646 from the floor during GSAC play … Led the Cougars in scoring 14 times and rebounding 15 times … Had 6 double-doubles … Scored in double-figures 23 times, including each of the final 10 games … Surpassed the 20-point barrier 8 times, including 6 straight games from Feb. 11 to March 1, which was capped with a season-high 28 points vs. Vanguard … Averaged 23.0 points and 7.7 rebounds during the streak … Totaled 15 points, 12 rebounds, 4 blocks and 4 steals vs. No. 4-ranked Union (Tenn.) … At Fresno Pacific, scored 25 points while shooting nearly perfect 11-for-12 (.917) from the field and 3-for-3 from the line … Shot .652 (79-for-121) over the final month of the season (11 games). 

TENNIS: Joined the Cougars’ nationally-ranked tennis program midway through the 2004 season and went on to post an 8-3 mark playing at No. 6 singles while leading the Cougars to their first-ever appearance in the NAIA championship match … Also posted a 10-4 record in doubles playing primarily with Lynn Quitoriano … Was 3-0 in GSAC play … Went undefeated, 3-0, at the NAIA Tournament. 

HIGH SCHOOL: Played 4 varsity seasons at Wasco (Calif.) Union High, for head coach David Lucas … Was a 3-time All-South Sequoia League honoree … Led the Tigers to a combined 82-32 overall 4-year record and a 34-6 Sequoia League mark … Finished her career with a 4-year average of 15.3 points and 9 rebounds, including 20.9 points, 11.5 rebounds and 3 assists as a 2002 senior … Also played 4 varsity years of tennis, playing at No. 1 singles … Played 3 years of softball … Graduated with a 4.33 GPA, served as ASB president and treasurer, yearbook editor and was named Tiger of the Year. 

PERSONAL: Born June 9, 1984, in Bakersfield, Calif., to Fred (CPA) and Kay (nurse) West … Has 1 brother (Matthew) and 1 sister (Courtney) … Majoring in accounting … Went on a missions trip to Mexico … Enjoys tennis and watching movies.
