THIS YEAR: The lone transfer on this year's squad, Lindsey Rice comes in with one year of eligibility remaining after playing last season at NCAA Division II CS Stanislaus … Will make a push for a starting spot at the four, working alongside NAIA All-American Lindsey West on the inside … Brings veteran leadership and experience to the floor … Is very athletic and runs the floor well … Is a strong rebounder and can score … Is fundamentally sound.
CS STANISLAUS: Played the 2004 season at NCAA Division II CS Stanislaus in Turlock, Calif., for head coach Sharon Turner-Dean … Appeared in 26 games, starting 22 and averaging 24.9 minutes per game … Was third on the team in scoring (12.4 avg.) and rebounding (6.4 avg.) … Was second on the team with 27 steals and third with 12 blocked shots … Also had 36 assists … Scored 25 points and grabbed 14 rebounds vs. CS Dominguez Hills … Had 18 points in a win over CS San Bernardino.
SIERRA JC: Played 2 seasons at Sierra Junior College in Rocklin, Calif., for head coach Roz Goldenberg … Was a teammate of former Cougar and current assistant Candis Regan in 2002 … Averaged 12.9 points and 8.2 rebounds and was a 2-time All-Bay Valley Conference first team selection … As a 2003 sophomore was named all-state second team after leading the 19-12 Wolverines to the second round of the state tournament while averaging 12.8 points and 8.0 rebounds … Averaged 13.2 points and 8.0 rebounds and led Sierra to a 24-9 overall mark, a Bay Valley championship and an appearance in the "Sweet 16" of the state tournament as a 2002 freshman.
