Biography
2011 (senior): An experienced player, senior Jessica Raber is a sharp-shooting wing who will play a key role off the bench in particular situations … Excels against zone defenses … Has great speed is running the court … Enhances the Cougars’ up-tempo game … Has worked hard on her game in the off-season and should offer a great spark off the bench.
2010 (junior): Had to adjust to a diminished role from prior seasons but as a 2010 junior still appeared in 22 of the Cougars’ 36 games, including 2 in the NAIA Tournament … Scored a season-high 11 points in 15 minutes of play on the strength of a trio of 3-pointers in a win over San Diego Christian … Scored 5 points in 13 minutes in an early-season victory over Great Falls … Played in 3 of the Cougars’ 6 postseason games.
2009 (sophomore): Appeared in 33 of the Cougars’ 34 games, coming off the bench in all of them … Averaged 4.2 points and 1.4 rebounds … Put together an 8-game mid-season stretch in which she averaged 9.6 points, which included a pair of career-high 17-point efforts, including one against Point Loma Nazarene … Was second on the team with 31 three-point field goals, making at least 1 in 18 games, and went 18-for-36 from the arc at one point in the season.
2008 (freshman): Appeared in 31 of 32 games on the Cougar schedule … Registered 90 points on the season for 2.9 points per game … Also grabbed 30 rebounds and had 16 assists … Best game was the 70-60 road win at The Master’s when she made all 5 of her shots from the field in a 12-point effort … Scored 11 points along with 2 rebounds and 3 assists in the next game, an 84-69 win over California Baptist … Scored 8 or more points in 5 of the final 8 games of the season, shooting 57 percent (20-for-35) over the stretch run.
HIGH SCHOOL: Played 3 varsity seasons at Alta Loma High, wrapping up her prep career as a 2-year captain for the Braves … Was a 2-time All-Baseline League second team selection … Averaged 15 points a game as a 2007 senior and won the 3-point shooting contest at the Inland Valley All-Star game.
