Biography

(2011 senior):  Guard C.J. Hill is a fifth-year senior who has played in more games than any current Cougar … Is a 3-year starter who can play the point or the wing …  Arguably the quickest player on the team and is very good at driving to the basket, but can knock down the perimeter shot … Enters the season fifth on Azusa Pacific’s career list for 3-point field goals made … Should be among the team’s top scorers … Rated a good defensive player … Will push for conference honors.
 
2010 (junior):  Put together a fine 2010 junior season in which she started all 36 games and averaged 12.5 points, 3.7 assists and 2.3 steals … Was seventh in the GSAC in both steals and assists and fourth in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.6 avg.) ... Scored in double figures in 26 games, and was the Cougars’ top scorer in 6 of them … Drained a career-high 24 points in an NAIA Tournament first-round victory over Montana Tech … Also had 22 in a win at Fresno Pacific … Has 10 points, 10 assists and 3 steals in a victory at California Baptist Averaged 14.2 points over the final 13 games of the season.
 
2009 (sophomore):  Fashioned a terrific 2009 sophomore campaign in which she appeared in all 34 games, starting the final 32 in a row … Split time between the point and off-guard … Was third on the team in scoring (10.5 avg.) and steals (1.6 avg.) and second in assists (4.0, seventh in the GSAC) … Led the team in minutes played, averaging nearly 34 a game … Scored 15 or more points 8 times, including a career-high 20 twice, first against top-ranked Union University and then again in a win at Fresno Pacific … Best all-around effort came in a win over No. 3-ranked Freed-Hardeman, tallying 17 points to go along with 6 assists and 3 steals … Made 2 free throws with 1 second left to lift Azusa Pacific to a 68-66 victory over Biola.
 
2008 (freshman): Played all 32 games for the Cougars, starting 11 games, including the last 8 games heading into the NAIA  tournament … Averaged 5.7 points, 2.8 assists, and 1.1 steals per game … Was a 75 percent free throw shooter, hitting 41-of-55 … Best showing was in the 79-65 overtime win at Hope International where she registered 18 points, 4 assists and 2 steals in her return to the starting lineup … Scored in double figures 5 times.
 
2007 (Redshirt):  Sat out the 2007 season to comply with NAIA eligibility regulations but attended Azusa Pacific and practiced with the team.
 
HIGH SCHOOL:  Was a 2-time All-CIF first team selection during her 3-year career at Notre Dame High in Sherman Oaks, Calif. ... Played for head coach Paul Gross ... Was also a 3-time All-Mission League pick ... As a 2006 senior, averaged a Mission League-best 18.3 points a game (36th in the state) and led the league with 60 3-point field goals ... Scored a career-high 31 points against Miller High ... Also had 29 points, 6 assists and 5 steals in a game vs. Perris High ... Named to the Los Angeles Daily News All-Area team while leading the Knights to a 20-10 record ... As a 2005 junior, averaged 12.7 points, 3.6 steals (league leader) and 2.1 assists while leading the Knights to a 20-7 record and their first CIF championship in 20 years ... In 2004 was named Notre Dame’s Sophomore Athlete of the Year ... Also played 1 varsity season of volleyball and ran track (sprint) another season.
 
PERSONAL:  Born July 4, 1988, in Van Nuys, Calif., to George (therapist) and Juanita (consumer services manager) Hill ... Has a younger sister ... Her father played basketball at SUNY-Oswego where he is among the school’s all-time top 5 in assists ... Her mother ran track at SUNY-New Paltz ... Her cousin is former Major League Baseballer Chris Jones (Reds, Rockies, Brewers, and others) ... Majoring in social work and loves working with children.
