Biography
THIS YEAR: A highly-respected player, All-American Andrea Alfiler returns after a one-year layoff . . . Outstanding player who is rated a strong play maker with good ball handling skills . . . Smart player and mentally tough.
2000: Sat out the year and did not attend school.
1999: Was a repeat NAIA All-American first team selection and was named All-GSAC for the third straight season . . . Scored 7 goals on 28 shots . . . Collected her first career hat-trick in a 10-0 win over The Master's, scoring 3 goals on 4 shots . . . Tallied 1 goal and 1 assist to help the Cougars to a 6-0 victory over National American (S.D.) in pool play at the NAIA Championship Tournament.
1998: Named NAIA All-American first team, 1 of 4 Cougars to be so honored . . . Registered 20 points on the strength of 6 goals and 8 assists . . . Noted for her big performances in crucial games . . . Named NAIA All-Tourney after scoring 3 goals (half of her season total) in just 4 games . . . Scored Cougars' lone goal in a 1-1 tie vs. defending national champ Mobile in the semifinals (the Cougars advanced on penalty kicks) . . . Also scored a pair of goals in pool play vs. Houghton for her first-ever multiple goal game.
1997: Was perhaps the biggest surprise on the team as a 1997 freshman. . . Joined the program as an unknown walk-on and by the third game of the season was in the starting line-up to stay . . . Tallied 8 points on a pair of goals and 4 assists . . . Scored the game-winner in a 1-0 victory at Cal State San Bernardino . . . Started final 20 games of the season, including all 10 GSAC games.
HIGH SCHOOL: Was a 4-year varsity letter-winner at Kapaa (Hawaii) High, from which she graduated in 1997 . . . Was a 2-time Kaua'i Interscholastic Federation (KIF) Player of the Year and a 4-time KIF all-star selection . . . Twice named all-state . . . Lettered in basketball, volleyball, cross country, and track & field . . . In basketball was KIF Player of the Year as a junior and was a 2-time KIF all-star pick.
