2020-21 (COVID-abbreviated season): Earned Academic All-PacWest honors...Appeared in three games for the team, pulling down her first rebound of the season on January 29th at Concordia.
THIS YEAR: After working off the rust of a 3-year layoff last year, senior Ana Resendiz is looking to play a significant role as a reserve in the Cougar backcourt ... Is an excellent 3-point shooter and has the ability to "microwave" the Cougar offense when needed.
2019-20: Transferred to Azusa Pacific to resume basketball career after a 3-year layoff ... Appeared in 11 games during her first season with the Cougars... Went 3-for-8 from beyond-the-arc... Registered a steal in the Cougars' season-opening win over Cal State San Bernardino... Academic All-PacWest..
HIGH SCHOOL: Played only one season of high school basketball at Don Lugo High in Chino, Calif., playing for head coach Eric Waltz ... As a 2016 senior averaged 22.4 points for the 11-15 Conquistadores ... Was second in the nation with 136 made 3-point field goals, breaking former Don Lugo legend and WNBA all-star Diana Taurasi's school single-season record of 96 ... For the effort of the record, was Taurasi's special guest at Phoenix Mercury game ... Scored 30 or more points in 7 games, including a career-high 42 in an 80-39 victory over Rosemead in which she made 10 3-pointers ... Tallied another 41 points in 84-21 victory over Workman High on the strength of single-game school record 13 trey, again breaking Taurasi's single-game standard ... Did not start playing organized basketball until her freshman year at Don Lugo, and even then she did not play for the Conquistadors but rather a travel team.
