Biography
THIS YEAR: Senior Alison Carr is 1 of 3 Cougars over 6-foot-1 and will team with Jessica Herman and Jennifer Barbone to give the Cougars an intimidating presence in the post . . . Effective at keeping the game simple . . . Does her job well . . . Will battle Barbone for a starting position at center . . . Works hard for difficult points underneath . . . A physically strong player.
1998: Averaged 7.6 points and 5.2 rebounds, playing in 29 games as a 1998 junior . . . Suffered a mid-season ankle sprain which caused her to miss a pair of GSAC games . . . Tallied a career-high 17 points in just 24 minutes against Cal Baptist . . . Scored 27 points in the Cougars' 2-game Bay Area swing at Bethany and Holy Names during November . . . grabbed a career-high 9 rebounds against both Cal Baptist and Point Loma Nazarene . . . Went 5-for-6 from the charity stripe and scored 15 points in the season opening win at Cal Poly Pomona.
IRVINE VALLEY: Played 2 seasons at Irvine Valley College where she led the Lasers to a 1997 Orange Empire conference title her sophomore year . . . Was an All-State Southern Section player . . . Averaged just over 10 points and almost 8 rebounds a game as a 1997 sophomore . . . Named team MVP . . . Recorded top performances of 23 points and 11 rebounds.
HIGH SCHOOL: Lettered in basketball and volleyball at Tustin High School, where she graduated from in 1995 . . . A 2-time All-Golden West League first team selection . . . Named team captain her senior season.
PERSONAL: Born Alison Jane Carr on April 12, 1977, in Orange, Calif., to Loyd and Jane Carr . . . 1 of 3 daughters . . . Member of a traveling basketball team in high school that traveled around California . . . An ASB senator in high school . . . Loves to surf, crochet and play ultimate frisbee . . . Worked with Meals on Wheels for the elderly . . . Enjoys playing basketball with her younger sister . . . Has a new passion for gardening and worked at a garden last summer . . . Majoring in business at Azusa Pacific and would like to work for a professional sports team or teach at the high school level . . . Would also like to coach basketball someday.
