THIS YEAR: One of the top players in the Golden State Athletic Conference, All-American Alex Moore-Porter is the leader of the team ... Is a do-everything player who is deceptively athletic ... Has a strong low-post game but is also a dangerous outside shooting threat who handles the ball well ... Is a hard worker and a great student of the game, constantly studying film and working on developing her game, particularly on defense ... Has a business-like attitude and holds herself and teammates accountable for the play on the court ... Will push for conference player of the year recognition.
2009 (sophomore): Put together a fabulous 2009 sophomore campaign, her first season at Azusa Pacific ... Started all 34 games and was named NAIA All-American second team after leading the team in scoring (18.4 avg., second in the GSAC) and rebounding (9.2 avg., third in the GSAC) ... Posted 15 double-doubles, including a 30-point, 13-rebound effort vs. eventual NAIA runner-up Lambuth in the second round of the NAIA Tournament ... Finished with the sixth highest scoring total in program history ... Over the final 8 games of the season, averaged 20.1 points and 10.4 rebounds while recording 6 double-doubles ... Tallied career-highs 30 points and 15 rebounds in a victory at California Baptist ... Had 24 points and 10 rebounds in a near upset of Vanguard ... In all, had 14 20-point games, including a pair of 30-point contests.
YAKIMA VALLEY CC (freshman): Competed as a 2008 freshman at Yakima (Wash.) Valley Community College, where she was named a second-team East Region All-Star in the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges ... Moved from her natural forward position to fill the Yaks' needs at guard, helping Yakima Valley to a 26-6 campaign, the program's fifth straight 20-win season ... Came off the bench in the season finale to tally a season-high 32 points and 13 rebounds in an 84-66 win over Centralia in the NWAACC Tournament fourth-place game ... Was second on the team in scoring (12.8 avg.), rebound (5.0 avg.) and field goal percentage (54%).
HIGH SCHOOL: Played 2 seasons of basketball for head coach Sandy Schneider at Lakeside High in Seattle, Wash. after sitting out her first 2 years due to injury ... Led the Metro League in scoring as a 2007 senior, averaging over 20 points per game ... Also ranked third in scoring in Washington's 3A classification and was the entire state's fifth-leading scorer in 2007 ... Led the Lions to the 2007 Class 3A District Finals ... Tallied 923 points over 2 seasons, earning 2-time All-Metro League, Seattle Times all-league first team and Seattle Post-Intelligencer Area All-Star recognition ...
