Biography

THIS YEAR: One of the most experienced players in the GSAC, senior third baseman Trisha Rico has played in over 155 games over the past 3 years ... Is 1 of just 2 seniors on the squad ... Has a quality glove and quick instincts which make her perfectly suited to handle the hot corner ... Quite consistent on defense ... Has made nice strides at the plate and is expected to produce numbers with her bat. 

2003: Enjoy her best offensive campaign at Azusa Pacific, batting a career-high .277 which included 8 doubles and 14 runs scored ... Closed the season on a high note, batting .464 over the final 9 games with 4 RBIs, 4 doubles and 4 runs scored ... Went 6-for-8 with 3 RBIs and a game-winning run in a doubleheader sweep of Cal State San Bernardino ... Was 3-for-4 vs. Hawaii Pacific. 

2002: As a 2002 sophomore batted .250 and gathered 17 RBIs, playing in 52 of the Cougars' 53 games ... Was 2-for-3 with 2 runs, 2 RBIs and 1 double in an early-season victory over Claremont-Scripps. 

2001: Appeared in 54 of the Cougars' 57 games, starting 52 as a collegiate rookie ... After a slow start, batted .230 over the final 25 games of the season ... Included in the stretch was a 2-for-3 effort with 2 runs, an RBI and a double in a 4-2 win over California Baptist ... Had a hand in 7 of the Cougars' 27 double plays during the season. 

HIGH SCHOOL: Played 4 years at Rancho Cucamonga (Calif.) High School, from which she graduated in 2000 ... Led the Cougars to 3 Mt. Baldy League first-place finishes in 4 years ... Named all-league her senior year ... Prepped with current Cougars Laurette Ortiz and Courtney Cleaves ... Selected scholar-athlete 3 seasons as well. 

PERSONAL: Born Nov. 26, 1982, in San Dimas, Calif., to Rudy (maintenance engineer) and Annalisa (child nutrition manager) Rico ... Has 1 sister (Marissa) ... Enjoys playing tennis ... Majoring in liberal studies with a minor in psychology
