Lauren Sweet is entering her third season as the assistant coach of Azusa Pacific. A native of Southern California, Sweet returned home following a stellar four-year career at University of Michigan.

At Michigan, Sweet was a four-year starter at catcher, earning multiple All-Big Ten honors along with NFCA Great Lakes All-Region first team accolades as a 2015 senior. After completing her collegiate career, Sweet continued her playing career as a professional with the USSSA Florida Pride in the National Pro Fastpitch league for two seasons.
Sweet graduated from Santiago High School in Corona in 2011, where she led the team to the CIF and state titles in 2011. She was a two-time all-state selection, and she was named California Miss Softball and received Under Armour All-American recognition in 2011.

Sweet graduated from the University of Michigan in 2016 with a major in elementary education. She is currently pursuing her master’s in educational technology at Azusa Pacific.
