Bob Oaks is in his ninth year of coaching at Azusa Pacific after first joining the staff in 2009.
 
After spending over 30 years in the lumber industry, Oaks entered collegiate coaching in 2009, and he was joined on the Cougars’ coaching staff for three seasons (2010-12) by his daughter Gina, who was an All-American softball player at Cal State Fullerton and went on to play professionally for seven years and also competed on the U.S. National Team.
 
Oaks is a Southern California native who attended Temple City High School and played college baseball at Pasadena City College before injuries ended his playing career.
 
Oaks and his wife Irene reside in Rancho Cucamonga, and they have two children (Bobby, Gina). Oaks and his daughter Gina were both on the coaching staff that took Azusa Pacific to consecutive NAIA Softball National Tournaments in 2011 and 2012.
