THIS YEAR: Senior Sean Henning concludes his collegiate career this season pursuing recognition in the long distances ... Is strong in the 10,000 but is likely to run the marathon at the NAIA Outdoor Championships.Â
2006: As a 2006 junior qualified for the NAIA Outdoor Championships in the marathon, finishing 22nd out of 45 competitors with a time of 2:45:12, the ninth fastest time in Cougar track & field history ... At the GSAC championships, finished tenth in the 10,000 (33:45.6) ... Also clocked a 15:50.91 in the 5000.Â
2005: As a 2005 sophomore, recorded a season-best 15:36.93 in the 5000 at the Occidental Invitational.Â
CROSS COUNTRY: Was a 3-year member of the Cougar cross country program, appearing in 11 meets in the course of his career, including the 2005 NAIA championship meet ... Posted a lifetime 8K best of 26:15 at the 2005 NAIA regional championship meet.Â
FRESNO STATE: Ran 1 season of track & field at NCAA Division I Fresno State … Transferred out after the cross country program was dropped … As a 2004 track freshman, recorded seasons bests of 4:14.61 (1500), 10:40.46 (steeplechase) and 16:28.00 (5000) … Also registered a 27:15 in the 8K running unattached in a cross country meet in 2002. HIGH SCHOOL: Ran 3 seasons of track & field and cross country for head coach Greg Sarkisian at St. Joseph High in Santa Maria … Was a 2-time CIF finalist in cross country, posting a best of 16:20 (3-mile) during his senior season … Went on to finish fourth in the 2002 CIF Southern Section track & field finals in the mile (4:28) … Also played 1 season of varsity basketball (guard).Â
