2016 (fall): Reached the semifinal at the ITA Regional Championship as the No. 7 singles seed ... Claimed ITA region doubles title while paired up with Oliver Frank ... Came in second place with Frank at the ITA National Tournament in Surprise, Ariz.
2016 (junior): One of the most experienced players in the team, Engel posted a record of 12-9 in singles and 13-10 in doubles … Most of the singles wins came from No. 4 slot… Engel showed his best results towards the end of the season which led the team to a winning close Point Loma and UC San Diego… Pairing up with Marnix Pluim at No. 2 doubles, Engel posted a 8-6 record ... With Alan Leahy as a partner at No. 3 doubles they recorded a 6-4 mark
2015 (offseason): Reached the quarterfinals in singles of the USTA/ITA Fall West Region Small College tournament with wins over players from UCSD and Sonoma State... In doubles, paired with Jan Meyer to win to regional title... The pair advanced to the national tournament in Sumter, where they took third place defeating the No. 1 teams from West Liberty and Drury in straight sets... In Los Angeles, advanced to the main draw with two wins in qualifying... Defeated USC's David Laser 7-6(1), 6-4 and UCLA's Travis Martin 6-0, 6-1.
2015 (sophomore): Compiled a 13-9 record in singles, playing primarily in the No. 3 position... Played No. 2 doubles and had a 16-8 record with Ben Eger... Was a third team all-Pacific West Conference selection... Won his season-opening match at UCSD against Mark Meyer 6-3, 2-6, 6-3 to clinch a 5-4 victory... Twice beat Ibrahim Karmadzhe from No. 19 BYU-Hawaii, including in the PacWest Conference semifinals... The first win was part of a season-best four match winning streak... Defeated UCSD's Horea Porutiu 6-3, 7-6(4) at No. 3 singles... Won 8 of 9 doubles sets to start the season... Had two five-set winning streaks in doubles... Defeated Skyler Butts and Daniel Morkovine from No. 1-ranked Claremont Mudd Scripps, 8-6.
2014 (offseason): Played in the USA F24 event in Claremont, Calif. on the futures tour and defeated Artoim Dimitriev in the first round of qualifying 6-7(3), 6-3, 6-2... In the USTA/ITA West Regional, reached the quarterfinals with two straight-set victories... Played in the 58th Annual Southern California Intercollegiate Championships, but was eliminated in the first round by UCLA's Nikolas Ramadan, 6-4, 6-2
2014 (freshman): Played everywhere in the lineup in singles from No. 2 to No. 6 and played in all three positions... Went 17-6 on the season, including 7-1 at No. 2 singles and No. 3 singles combined... Finished the season on a seven-match winning streak... In doubles, went 17-12 with a 7-7 record at No. 1 doubles with Jan Meyer... At No. 1 doubles, defeated Fabian Groetsch and Ahmed Triki from Barry, who were ranked No. 14 in the nation by a score of 8-6... Won his singles match at No. 3 in the NCCAA Championship match, 6-3, 6-2
