THIS YEAR:  An excellent newcomer, freshman Elijah Morgan will vye from the outset for playing time in the Cougar outfield ... Rated a strong athlete with good baseball tools ... Brings size and physical maturity to his game ... Has a promising future ahead of him.

HIGH SCHOOL:  Played 3 seasons of varsity baseball for Head Coach Scott Hornma at Lutheran High in Parker, Colo., where he put together a sparkling prep career ... Over the course of 3 seasons, played in 81 games, batting .404 for his career with 17 home runs, 16 doubles and 102 RBIs ... Stole 31 of 37 bases as well ... His most impressive campaign was his 2023 junior season when he was named All-State 4A first after he batted .453 (43-for-95) in 29 games with 11 home runs, 8 triples, 5 doubles, 50 RBIs, and 13 stolen bases ... Led the Lions to a 17-11 record and a fourth-place finish in the Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA) Divison 4A championship ... Hit 3 home runs during Lutheran's 6-game run in the state playoffs ... As a 2024 senior, batted .356 (26-for-73) in 24 games with 27 runs, 25 RBIs, 6 doubles, 2 triples and 4 home runs for the 13-12-1 Lions ... As a 2022 sophomore, batted .386 (22-for-57) in 28 games with 26 runs, 27 RBIs, 5 doubles and 2 home runs for the 26-3 Lions who won the 3A Metro League title with a perfect 13-0 record and finished fourth in the CHSAA Class 3A state tournament ... Also spent time on the during his prep career, making 29 appearances while recording a 6-3 record with a 2.91 ERA, striking out 111 in 81.2 innings of work while collecting 4 saves.

His dad was a 1989 and 1990 NCAA All-American in cross country at the University of Tennessee ... Majoring in Business Management ... Is 1 of 4 current Cougars who hail from Parker, Colo.
