THIS YEAR:  An outstanding athlete with speed and power, junior Elijah Cook will press for a starting berth in the Cougar outfield ... Figures to bat near the top of the line-up and likely play centerfield in order to utilize his speed ... Could prove to be a catalyst in the Cougar offense.

PALOMAR:  Played the 2024 season at Palomar Community College in San Marcos, Calif. ... As a 2024 sophomore, batted .346 with 6 home runs, and 38 RBIs in 43 games played for the 36-11 Comets, who advanced to the finals of the CCCAA Southern California regional tournament ... Led the team with 8 triples and was second with 52 runs scored ... Had a 2-run triple followed by a solo home run against Fullerton in his first 2 at-bats of the 2024 campaign ... Went 4-for-4 with 4 runs scored, a triple, and 4 RBIs in a 24-4 win over the Southwestern ... In the next game, went 4-for-6 with a double and 3 runs scored in a 12-8 win over San Bernardino Valley ... Named Pacific Coast Athletic Conference first team for his play.

CSUN:  Played his 2023 freshman campaign at Cal State Northridge where he appeared in 13 games with 1 start ... Had 1 hit in 8 at-bats for the Matadors ... Scored a pair of runs and stole 2 bases in his limited action for the 34-17 Matadors.

HIGH SCHOOL:  Played 2 seasons of varsity baseball for Head Coach Eddie Johnson at Mater Dei Catholic High in Chula Vista, Calif. ... As a 2022 senior, earned All-South Bay League first team recognition after batting .505 with 46 hits, including 7 home runs, and 45 stolen bases.

PERSONAL:  Born May 14, 2004, in San Diego, Calif. .... Parents are Rashard and Joy Cook ... Has a twin brother (Jeremiah) and 2 younger brothers (Isaiah, Noah) and a sister (Amiyah) ... His dad was was an All-Pac-10 football player (safety) at USC and an eventual sixth-round draft pick of the Chicago and played 4 seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles ... Majoring in Business Management.
