Biography

THIS YEAR:  Redshirt sophomore Doug Pyle is looking to break through a deep Cougar pitching staff to establish himself as a reliable arm out of the bullpen ... Known for his breaking pitches ... Uses his size well as he looks to improve on his control ... Despite having limited experience on the mound, nonetheless is in his third season in the program and can offer good leadership.

2024:  Appeared in 2 games as a 2024 redshirt freshman, working 3 innings, striking out 3 and walking 2, while allowing 4 hits and 4 runs, all unearned, in brief appearances against nonconference foes San Francisco State and Hope International.

2023:  Redshirted his first season at Azusa Pacific, practicing with the team while attending classes at APU.

HIGH SCHOOL:  Played 2 seasons of varsity baseball at La Salle High in Pasadena, Calif., working under Head Coach Mike Solar during his 2021 junior year before Andy Nieto took over the Lancer program in 2022 ... As a 2022 senior, helped lead the Lancers to a 17-11 record and the second round of the CIF-Southern Section Division IV playoffs ... Also played centerfield for the Lancers. 

PERSONAL:  Born Nov. 16, 2003 ... Parents are Patrick and Leslie ... Has an older brother ... Majoring in Business Management.
