Biography

THIS YEAR:  Senior Richie Craven gears up for his final season after battling a leg injury last season … Has terrific speed on the outside … Can be a key goal scorer … Has good pace … Strikes the ball well. 

2004:  Was limited to 3 starts in 4 games because of an injury … Recorded an assist against Cornerstone (Mich.) for his lone point of the season … Took 3 shots. 

2003: Started all 16 of the games he played in during his first season at Azusa Pacific … Scored 4 goals and assisted on another while taking 38 shots … Scored a pair of goals in his Azusa Pacific debut, a 4-0 win over Warner Pacific (Ore.) … Tallied goals against NAIA foes Concordia (Ore.) and Westminster (Utah) … Added his lone assist in the Cougars' win over Christian Heritage. 

FURMAN: Played 1 season at Furman University in Greenville, S.C. … Appeared in 14 matches, scoring 2 goals and tallying 1 assist for the 19-3-1 Paladins … Both goals came in 3-0 wins over Wofford (S.C.) and Lipscomb (Tenn.) … Was part of a Paladin team that advanced to the NCAA "Sweet 16," losing to eventual national runner-up Stanford, 2-1, in double overtime … The Paladins set an NCAA record with 11 consecutive shutouts, were ranked No. 8 by Soccer America and No. 13 by the NSCAA and finished a perfect 8-0 while on their way to a fifth straight and 16th overall Southern Conference championship. 

HIGH SCHOOL: Played 4 varsity seasons for head coach Bobby Brockman at Glynn Academy in Brunswick, Ga. … Led the Red Terrors in scoring all 4 seasons, setting school and region records with 104 career goals in 70 games, a total that also ranks second in Georgia prep history … As a 2002 senior, scored 34 goals and led Glynn Academy to a 20-2 mark, a No. 4 state ranking and a trip to the state semifinals … Started all 70 games during his high school career … Also played 1 season of varsity basketball and was a teammate of Kwame Brown, who in 2001 was the first high school player ever selected with the first overall pick in the NBA Draft.
