THIS YEAR: Senior Mia Medrano enters her third season at Azusa Pacific after establishing herself as a steady presence in the Cougar back row … Expected to provide veteran leadership and continue playing an important role in the Cougars’ defensive rotation. 

2025 (junior): Appeared in 25 matches as a 2025 junior, playing in 92 sets … Led the Cougars with 406 digs while adding 79 assists and 10 service aces … Recorded double-digit digs 20 times, highlighted by a career-high 30 digs against Dominican in the season finale … Also tallied 26 digs against Westmont, 25 digs against Biola and 24 digs against both Cal State Monterey Bay and Menlo. 

2024 (sophomore): Appeared in 26 matches as a 2024 sophomore, playing in 97 sets … Led the Cougars with 456 digs while adding 78 assists, 21 service aces and 6 kills … Recorded double-digit digs 23 times, highlighted by a career-high 37 digs against Western Oregon … Also tallied 27 digs against Vanguard, 24 digs against CUI and 22 digs against Cal State San Marcos, Vanguard and Biola.

CAL STATE DOMINGUEZ HILLS: Played her 2023 freshman season at Cal State Dominguez Hills where she appeared in 16 matches (27 sets), all off the bench for the 10-15 Toros ... Ironically, saw her most playing time in the second match of the season, a 4-set win over Azusa Pacific at the Concordia Tournament where she recorded a season-high 5 digs in 3 sets of action.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played 2 seasons of varsity volleyball at Ontario (Calif.) Christian High ... Was a key member of a Knight program that went 52-27 (.658), going 22-0 in Ambassador League play for 2 titles ... Also helped pace the Knights to 2 CIF Southern Section playoff appearances ... Earned All-Ambassor League recognition for her play ... Also lettered in beach volleyball ... Played club ball with T-Street out of Irvine with fellow Cougars Trinitee Carroll and Makayla Chiechi.

PERSONAL: Birthday is Nov. 28 ... Majoring in biology.
