Biography

THIS YEAR:  Now in his sixth year in the program, grad student Marco Bermudez is the ultimate definition of the "company man" ... Though he has appeared in just 23 games in 3 seasons of play with the Cougars, he nonetheless has seen the Cougars' past 71 games ... Figures to fill a key role in the Cougar backfield.
 
2023: Appeared in a career-high 13 games, which including his first-ever collegiate starts, 6 in all … Recorded 588 minutes played and helped Azusa Pacific to 5 shutouts while contributing on the back line. 

2022: As a 2022 sophomore saw action often the bench in just 2 games (vs. Point Loma and Chaminade), totaling 59 minutes on the pitch at midfield. 

2021: Earned academic All-PacWest recognition after appearing in 8 games while totaling 193 minutes played…Had 5 games where he played 20 or more minutes.

2020: No official season due to global pandemic.

2019: Redshirted his first season at Azusa Pacific and did not appear in any games but practiced with the team all season.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played his 2019 senior year for longtime prep coach Arturo Lopez at Cathedral High in Los Angeles, helping lead the Phantoms to a 23-4-2 record, the Del Rey League championship, and a CIF Southern Section Division I semifinal appearance ... Played in 23 games, scoring 2 goals, including one in the state playoffs at San Clemente... Played the prior 3 years for Head Coach Erick Rodriguez at Marshall High in Pasadena, Calif. ... The Eagles posted a combined 32-24-11 record during Bermudez' 3 years.

PERSONAL:  Birthday is July 2 ... Majoring in business.
