THIS YEAR:  Junior Justin Kari returns to the team after not playing last season because of a broken collarbone … Has a good work ethic … Will be pushing for time in the central midfield … Has a good work rate. 

2003:  Appeared in 15 games, making 12 starts in the midfield … Totaled 5 points, scoring 2 goals and adding 1 assist … Took 12 shots … Scored to give the Cougars an insurmountable lead against Westmont in a key GSAC contest that Azusa Pacific won 2-1 (Sept. 6) … Added his second goal of the year in a 3-1 win over Cal Baptist (Oct. 14) … Assisted on a goal in a 6-0 shutout win over Christian Heritage (Oct. 11).

HIGH SCHOOL:  Prepped at Tigard High in Tigard, Ore., from which he graduated in 2000 … Was a 3-time All-PAC selection, earning first team honors as a junior and senior … Named All-State honorable mention as a senior.  

PERSONAL:  Born Sept. 16, 1981, in Portland, Ore., to John and Becky Kari … Has 1 brother, Daniel, who played soccer for the Cougars in 2003 and 1 sister, Beth … Majoring in business with a minor in communication.
