THIS YEAR: One of the fastest Cougars, senior midfielder Jeff Johnson returns for his final collegiate season ... Began his career as a forward but has since dropped back to the midfield where he uses his speed on the flanks … Can be an offensive spark plug.

2001: Appeared in 17 games, starting 8 as an outside midfielder … Started the final 6 games of the season … Recorded a pair of assists, including one on the game-winner of the Cougars’ 2-1 overtime win over Notre Dame de Namur in the opening round of the NAIA Region II Playoffs.

2000: Was 1 of 6 Cougars named All-GSAC ... Started all 20 games for the GSAC champion Cougars ... Scored the decisive second goal to help Azusa Pacific to a 3-1 victory over 1999 GSAC champion Fresno Pacific.

1999: Scored a team-high 8 goals in his first taste of collegiate action ... Played all 22 games and started 16 ... Scored both goals in a 2-1 GSAC victory over Christian Heritage ... Scored 2 goals in nonconference wins over CS Hayward and CS Monterey Bay ... Assisted Matt Hall’s game-winner in a 2-1 overtime win over Point Loma Nazarene.

HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at Goddard High in Wichita, Kan... . Played 4 seasons of varsity soccer, becoming Goddard's all-time scorer with 64 career goals ... As a 1999 senior, named all-state after tallying 15 goals and 10 assists in 19 games ... Was a 3-time All-Chishom Trail League honoree ... Was all-state first team as a 1998 junior after leading the Lions to a 14-2-2 record with 25 goals and 5 assists ... As a 1997 sophomore, was a member of Goddard's 17-4 team that advanced to the state semifinals, scoring 16 goals in the process ... Also lettered in track & field.
