1994:  Hector Vasquez came on strong toward the end of the 1993 season and proved to be a valuable asset ... Figures prominently in the Cougars plans ... One of the stronger role players on the team ... 1 of only 2 Cougars with junior college experience.

1993 (junior):  Was difficult to keep out of the starting line-up during his 1993 sophomore season ... Came off the bench for the first 4 games, but was inserted into the starting line-up vs. Cal Baptist and didn't come out the rest of the season ... Did not score on 13 shot attmepts ... Registered his only assist in the Cougars' 2-1 loss to Point Loma Nazarene.

JUNIOR COLLEGE:  Played 2 seasons at Fullerton (Calif.) College and was the team captain of his 1991 sophomore squad.

HIGH SCHOOL:  Played at Sonora High in La Habra, Calif. ... Was team MVP and All-Freeway League first team during his 1989 senior season ... Lettered in track & field and cross country as well.

PERSONAL:  Born Mark Vasquez, Jr., Aug, 3, 1971, in Whittier, Calif. ... Majoring in physical education ... His list of favorites include:  spaghetti (food), "The Firm" (book) and Mel Gibson (actor).
