Biography

2022: Saw action in four games and started three... Totaled 158 minutes and one complete game on the year… Helped the Cougars to two games with one or fewer goals scored against while seeing time on the back line.

2021: Earned Academic All-PacWest distinction… Saw action in five games this year…Over 87 minutes played collected one shot on goal. 

2020: No official season due to global pandemic.

COLLEGIATE CAREER PRIOR TO APU: Simpson makes his way to Azusa Pacific for his junior season after spending his freshman year (2018) at Marysville University, and the 2019 season at Johnson County Community College. Last season at JCCC, he played in 18 games and started 14 of them, as he helped the defensive unit post a 1.14 goals against average. He also found the back of the net once, which was a game-winning strike in the semi-finals of the Region IV playoffs. Academically, he earned JCCC student-athlete academic honors in the fall 2019 semester. At Marysville, Simpson played in four games as a freshman. Of those four games, he helped deliver three shutouts defensively.

HIGH SCHOOL/YOUTH CAREER: Simpson had a successful and decorated career at the youth level in his native country of Jamaica. His youth accomplishments include: Two-Time Manning Cup Champion (Jamaica College), two-time Oliver Shield Champion (Jamaica College), Walker Cup Champion (Jamaica College), three-time U-15 Champion, three-time U-17 Champion, Division One Championship (Manchester Academy), member of Jamaica's U-17 National Team, Three-Time Manchester Football Association MVP (U-13, U-15, U-17), Team Captain (U-13, U-15, U-18), Top Defender for U-13 and U-15, Sportmax U18 Elite League Team MVP and Captain, Dean's List, Honor Roll, and All Athletic-Academic Award.
