THIS YEAR:  Senior Danny Sundberg returns to help provide depth in the Cougar midfield … Is a smart player who passes well … Is noted for his ability to organize the field of play … Considered one of the best passers over distance on the team. 

2006:  Played in 12 games, all in reserve … Scored his first career goal in an 8-0 GSAC victory over San Diego Christian … Took 7 shots … Helped a defense that held opponents to less than 2 goals in 11 of the 12 games he appeared … Played in all 3 NAIA Region II playoff games, as well as the first 2 games of Azusa Pacific’s run to the NAIA title game. 

2005:  Appeared in 4 games as a 2005 sophomore … In each of his games the Cougars’ defense posted shutouts. 

2004:  Played in 7 games as a freshman, including 1 start … Was a part of 3 of the Cougars’ 5 shut outs … Helped the Cougars knock off California Baptist 2-1 in his lone start. 

HIGH SCHOOL:  Played 3 varsity seasons at Upland High for head coach Dave Condino, graduating in 2004 … Was a 2-time All-Baseline League honorable mention … Led the Scots to the Baseline League championship as a 2004 senior as well as a CIF quarterfinal appearance as a sophomore. 

PERSONAL:  Born Aug. 21, 1986, in Upland, Calif., to Nils and Jane Sundberg … Has one sister (Janelle) … Enjoys ping pong.
