Former Cougar Josh Hodges begins his second season as an assistant coach under Phil Wolf.

Hodges, who graduated with a bachelor of arts in business administration in 2000 from Azusa Pacific, started his own soccer business called Glendora Soccer Association (GSA). Through the GSA, Hodges organizes the “Soccer Academy,” a soccer camp for youth, clinics and various adult leagues. His is also the founder, director and president of Glendora F.C., an upper level club program that features 15 teams at different age levels.

In addition to running the GSA, Hodges is set to begin his third season as the head men’s varsity coach at Glendora High.

A native of Overland Park, Kan., Hodges transferred to Azusa Pacific from NAIA-member Olivet Nazarene in Kankakee, Ill., in the fall of 1998. In 2 seasons playing under former head coach Don Lawrence, Hodges appeared in 30 games, starting 7. He scored a pair of goals and assisted on 2 others both during his 1999 senior season.

In 2 seasons at Olivet Nazarene, Hodges was a regular starter at center midfield for the Tigers scoring 22 goals and tallying 12 assists.

Hodges prepped at Shawnee Mission West High in Overland Park, Kan., where he played 2 years of varsity soccer. As a 1995 senior, Hodges scored 12 goals and had 8 assists, earning All-Sunflower League and All-Sun County honorable mention.

Hodges, 24, is single and resides in Glendora, Calif. He will begin work on his MBA beginning in the fall of 2002 at Azusa Pacific.
