Danny Sundberg is in his first year as a volunteer assistant coach for the Azusa Pacific men's soccer program, bringing a unique combination of championship-level playing experience, business acumen, and professional leadership expertise. A former Cougar standout, Sundberg was a 4-year midfielder from 2004 to 2007 and played a pivotal role on Azusa Pacific's 2007 NAIA National Championship team. He started all 4 postseason matches, including the national championship victory over Concordia University Irvine, helping lead the program to one of the most significant achievements in its history.

A native of Upland, Calif., Sundberg earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Azusa Pacific University in 2008 and completed his Master of Business Administration in 2009. His academic background has supported a successful professional career spanning operations management, data systems, supply chain management, marketing, and business consulting. Over the course of his career, he has held leadership positions with organizations including MedMen, Lowell Herb Co., and UAR Management, where he has specialized in systems development, process improvement, and organizational efficiency.

Sundberg returned to his alma mater as the Cougars transitioned into NCAA Division III competition and membership in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC). In his coaching role, he focuses primarily on strength and conditioning, player development, and the cultivation of a high-performance culture that reflects the values and competitive standards of the Azusa Pacific men's soccer program.

Combining the perspective of a national champion student-athlete with extensive experience in business operations and leadership, Sundberg is committed to developing well-rounded student-athletes and helping position the Cougars for sustained success both on the field and beyond graduation.
