Biography

THIS YEAR:  Junior Chris Batdorf is a smart player with good on-ball skills … Is an efficient scorer who has put away several key scoring opportunities throughout his career … Displays strong leadership qualities. 

2006:  Played in 13 games and started 5 times … Scored 3 goals and assisted another, all in a 4-game stretch midway through the season … Had 2 game-winning goals, including a dramatic 90th-minute score that broke a scoreless tie and gave the Cougars a 1-0 win over eventual GSAC champion Concordia. 

2005:  Made 4 starts and appeared in a total of 19 games in his initial campaign … Provided offensive depth for the team as he scored 4 goals, including 2 game-winners, and collected 2 assists … Scored a pair of goals against Hope International in a conference victory … Assisted a goal in his first collegiate game against Illinois-Springfield … Also had an assist in the Cougars’ NAIA Tournament semifinal win over Hastings (Neb.). 

HIGH SCHOOL:  Played 4 years of varsity soccer for head coach Aaron McIntosh at Horizon High in San Diego, Calif. … Left as the Panthers all-time leader in goals with 66 … Was a 2-time Coastal South first team selection … Also a 2-time member of the San Diego Union Tribune All-Academic first team … Received the Golden Boot Award 4 times as the team’s leading goal scorer … Was a guest player for the Cascade Surge Tour in Europe in 2001, 2003, and 2004 … Was also a guest player in 2002 for IMG Academy on a tour to Brazil. 

PERSONAL:  Son of Greg and Caryl Batdorf … Majoring in biochemistry with a chemistry minor … Was the valedictorian of his senior class … Would like to be a medical doctor.
