THIS YEAR:  Freshman Brett Taylor has a bright future as a future Cougar defender … Similar in playing style to Azusa Pacific’s 2-year starting center back Mark Peters … Has the versatility to play inside or outside and will give the Cougars quality depth in the back. 

HIGH SCHOOL:  Played 4 varsity seasons at Oaks Christian High in Westlake Village, Calif., for head coach Sebastian Alvarado … Was a 3-time All-Tri-Valley League selection and a 2-time All-CIF pick as a center midfielder … Led the Lions to the league title as a 2007 senior, posting 15 goals and 10 assists … Came back from an injury in the regular season as a 2006 junior to score a pair of game-winning goals in the CIF playoffs … Helped lead the Lions to the CIF championship game as a 2005 sophomore. 

PERSONAL:  Born April 26, 1989, in Torrance, Calif., to Ray and Sue Taylor … Has 1 older brother (Mark) and 1 older sister (Mollie) … Sister Mollie completed a 4-year soccer career as an academic all-conference defender at Seattle Pacific … Father Ray played baseball at Chico State … Majoring in business … Enjoys snowboarding, wakeboarding and playing basketball.
