THIS YEAR: One of the most explosive scorers in the NAIA, senior Andriy Budnny returns with an opportunity to push for a host of postseason honors … Is an explosive athlete with strong technical ability … Brings a high level of intensity to the field … Possesses the speed and finishing ability that makes him a dynamic scoring threat … Is also an exceptional passer. 

2004: Appeared in 16 games, starting 15 … Was named to the NAIA All-American second team … Was 1 of 5 Cougars named to the All-GSAC team … Led the team in points with 53, including 22 goals on 73 shots … Came within 3 points of the Cougars' single season points record (56) … After just one season ranks sixteenth on the all-time scoring list … Led the GSAC in overall total points and points per game average (3.31) … Led the GSAC in goals scored in conference play with 14 in 10 games … Had 4 game-winning goals in conference play which tied him for the league lead … Was named NAIA Player of the Week on October 5, after factoring in to all 5 goals the Cougars scored in a pair of conference wins … Incredibly, scored at least one goal in each game that he played in … Scored multiple goals in 7 games, including a 2-goal performance in the first round of the NAIA Tournament, a 4-2 win over Mobile … Tallied at least 4 points in 7 games … Had a season-high 7 points in a 5-2 win over Vanguard with a pair of goals and 3 assists … Tied an Azusa Pacific single game record with 3 assists … Scored the game-winner in the 106th minute on a penalty kick in a 2-1 win over Cal Baptist. 

SAN JOSE STATE: Played 1 season at NCAA Division I San Jose State … Appeared in 19 of the Spartans' 21 games, starting 10 of them … Scored 3 goals and was fifth on the team with 6 points for the 12-9-0 Spartans … Scored a pair of second half goals to lead the Spartans to a 2-1 come-from-behind win over Cal Poly SLO … Scored the game-winner in a 2-1 win over UNLV. 

BARD COLLEGE: Played his 2001 freshman campaign at NCAA Division III Bard College in Annandale On Hudson, N.Y. … Ranked second on the team and 28th in the nation with 33 points scoring 12 goals and assisting on 9 others. 

PERSONAL: Born Sept. 20, 1982, to Myron and Nadja Budnyy in Chernivtsi, Ukraine … Has one sister, Lesja … Majoring in sociology … Won a gold medal for creative writing while in high school … Enjoys basketball, music, reading, writing and camping … Would like to coach after graduation
