THIS YEAR: Junior midfielder Alex Gomez begins his first season with the Azusa Pacific men's soccer program after 2 years at Cypress College … Expected to compete for a starting spot, and at the very least play a key role off the bench.

CYPRESS COLLEGE: Played 2 seasons for Head Coach Cristian Rus at Cypress (Calif.) College ... Appeared in 45 matches, making 41 starts ... Recorded 8 goals and 4 assists for 20 points while helping the Chargers compile a 30-12-3 overall record over 2 seasons ... As a 2025 sophomore, started 21 of 22 matches and finished with 1 goal and 1 assist while helping the Chargers advance to the CCCAA Southern California Regional Playoffs ... As a 2024 freshman, appeared in all 23 matches with 20 starts ... Ranked second on the team with 7 goals and added 3 assists for 17 points ... Converted all 4 penalty kick attempts ...
