Terry Drake is a 1981 gradate of Azusa Pacific University with a degree in Physical Education, and will be taking over the team he used to run for.
During his competitive years at Azusa Pacific, which consisted of 3 track & field seasons and 2 cross country campaigns, Drake achieved many honors. In cross country, he was 2-time All-District 3 first team. On the track, Drake competed at the NAIA all 3 years and earned All-America recognition in the steeplechase in 1979. He also was the captain of the track & field and country teams for 2 years. Drake is still competing, but he has now turned his efforts toward road racing and marathoning. His goal is to qualify for the Olympica Trials in the marathon in 1984.
In the meantime, Drake hopes to use his experience in turning to help lead this year's cross country team to the 1981 district title.
