Jebreh Harris was announced as the head coach of Cougar cross country and assistant coach for track & field in August 2024. In his first season at Azusa Pacific, Harris made an immediate impact by guiding the Cougars to both men’s and women’s individual PacWest Cross Country champions and earning PacWest Men’s Cross Country Coach of the Year honors. His leadership elevated the program to national prominence, with both teams qualifying athletes for the NCAA Championships and producing multiple All-Americans.

Harris brought more than 14 years of collegiate coaching experience to Azusa Pacific, with prior stops at USC, Illinois, UNLV, South Carolina State, and his alma mater, Tennessee. His résumé includes national championship teams, Olympians, NCAA champions, and international coaching appointments with Team USA. A former elite middle-distance runner, Harris was a two-time U.S. Olympic Trials finalist, set an American record in the 4x800m relay, and was ranked No. 2 in the nation at 800 meters in 2007.
