THIS YEAR: Senior forward Tyler Monroe will redshirt the 2012-13 season, using the extra year for growth and development leading into his senior season of eligibility next year ... Possesses the talent and potential to be a special player by the time he concludes his collegiate career ... Has great instincts for the game and uses them effectively to be a playmaker at both ends of the floor.

2011-12 (junior): Started 28 of 32 games and registered the Cougars' best statistical season by leading the team in several categories ... Led the team in scoring with 424 points (13.3 per game) ... Also posted team-highs with 209 rebounds (6.5 per game) and 47 blocked shots ... His .625 field goal percentage ranked fifth nationally, and he also appeared in the top 25 of the NAIA in blocked shots ... Led the team in scoring in nine games and was the team's leading rebounder 15 times ... Made at least half of his field goal attempts in 26 of 32 games ... Posted six double-doubles, including his season scoring-high when he made 10-of-11 shots in a 24-point, 13-rebound performance against Vanguard ... Grabbed a season-high 14 rebounds to go with 19 points in a season-opening win over La Sierra ... Tallied 21 points and 13 rebounds in the conference opener, leading the Cougars to a 71-50 win on the road at Westmont ... Posted season-highs of four blocks and three steals in a victory against Embry-Riddle (Fla.).

JUNIOR COLLEGE: Played his freshman year (2008-09) at Yuba College in Marysville, Calif., and spent his 2009-10 sophomore campaign at Edmonds College in Lynnwood, Wash. ... At Edmonds, averaged 20.6 points and 7.0 rebounds per game ... Had the sixth-best scoring average in the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges (NWAACC), an organization of 34 community colleges in the states of Oregon and Washington ... Had 10 20-point games and three times scored 30-plus, including a season-high 37 points against NW Indian College ... Registered five double-doubles, including back-to-back games when he scored 30 points with a season-high 13 rebounds vs. Shoreline before posting 32 points and 11 rebounds against Olympic just four days later ... During his freshman season at Yuba, averaged 14.8 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks and was named to the All-Bay Valley Conference first team ... Led Yuba to a 25-10 record and a Bay Valley Conference title ... Hit the game-winning shot against Diablo Valley which advanced Yuba into the "Sweet 16" of the state playoffs.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played three varsity seasons at Inderkum High School in Sacramento, Calif., for head coach Eric Fong ... Averaged 18.5 points and 9.4 rebounds his senior year (2007-08), twice scoring a season-high 26 points ... As a junior in 2006-07, averaged 20.7 points and 11.5 rebounds ... Notched career-highs of 35 points and 19 rebounds in a win over River Valley (Yuba City) ... In his 2005-06 sophomore season, averaged 9.8 rebounds and 6.6 rebounds, posting seven double-doubles on the year ... Scored a season-high 22 points vs. Pioneer (Woodland) and tallied season rebounding best with 15 boards vs. Sutter.
