Biography

THIS YEAR:  Senior Kolt Callaway provides an experienced scoring touch from the midfield for the NAIA’s 2-time defending runner-up Azusa Pacific … Understands the game and has a knack for the goal … Strikes the ball exceptionally well. 

2006:  Played in 21 games, starting 18 times … Earned NAIA All-America Scholar Athlete recognition … Scored a pair of goals, including the first of a 2-0 win over Mobile (Ala.) … Buried the 20th penalty kick in the longest NAIA Tournament game ever decided by a shootout, leading Azusa Pacific into the quarterfinals with a 9-8 shootout win following a 1-1 overtime draw with Lee (Tenn.). 

2005:  Played a key role for the team appearing in 22 games … Made 7 starts … Had a career-high 13 points … Scored 4 goals and had a career-high 5 assists … Scored twice and added an assist in the Cougars’ 7-0 win over San Diego Christian … Played well at the national tournament scoring a goal in the semifinal win over Hastings (Neb.) … Recorded an assist on the Cougars’ lone goal in the national championship game. 

2004:  Appeared in 19 games overall while starting 11 … Started the final 9 games of the season, including the Cougars’ pair of NAIA Tournament contests … Scored 5 goals and added 1 assist in accumulating 11 points … Scored 2 goals in a 3-0 win over Cornerstone (Mich.) in just his second game at the collegiate level. 

HIGH SCHOOL:  Prepped 4 varsity seasons at Colorado Springs Christian High, graduating in 2004 … Was a 3-time all-state first team and All-Pikes Peak Region first team selection as well as a 4-time All-Tri Peaks League selection … Finished career with 94 goals, 56 assists and 244 points … Led the state in scoring during the 2002 and 2003 seasons and set the school scoring record for goals and points in just 3 seasons … Was the Tri-Peaks co-MVP and finished second in State Player of the Year voting as a 2004 senior … Played in 3 Colorado state all-star games … Led the Tigers to a state championship as a 2002 sophomore. 

PERSONAL:  Born Nov. 6, 1985, in Colorado Springs, Colo., to Kinne and Kathy Callaway … Has 2 brothers (Kutter, Katon) and 2 sisters (Kassidy, Kamdan) … Would like to go to seminary after graduation … Enjoys golf.
