THIS YEAR: The ultimate blue-collar player, sophomore Justin Williamson returns for his third season in the program ... Has developed and grown to become a valuable reserve ... Gives the Cougars terrific depth in terms of a physical style of play around the basket ... Cashes in on baskets off offensive rebounds ... Is a defensive nuisance to opposing big men.
2006: Enjoyed a surprising breakthrough 2006 freshman season in which he emerged as a key reserve as the season unfolded ... Appeared in 33 of the Cougars’ 36 games, all off the bench ... Averaged 2.4 points and 2.9 rebounds (3.0 and 3.1 in GSAC play) in 12 minutes of play ... Shot an impressive .565 (35-for-62) clip from the floor ... Twice scored a season-high 8 points, including an 8-point, 8-rebound effort against nationally-ranked Vanguard ... Played 26 minutes in a victory over Westmont ... In the NAIA Tournament second round, registered 4 key points and 4 rebounds in 8 minutes of play in a 3-point victory over nationally-ranked Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.).
2005: Redshirted his first season at Azusa Pacific, attending classes and working out with the team but not playing in any games.
HIGH SCHOOL: Played 3 seasons of varsity basketball for head coach Juan Alaniz at Turlock (Calif.) High … As a 2004 senior, named All-Central California Conference first team and twice named all-tournament, including MVP honors at the Tracy Holiday Classic … Averaged 8.1 points and a team-high 5.8 rebounds … Had a career-high 20 points (vs. Crenshaw), 11 rebounds (vs. Menlo-Atherton), and 7 assists (vs. Ceres) … Named to the Six Counties All-Star game and won the dunk contest … As a 2003 junior, named the team’s most improved player … Also earned 3 varsity letters in golf.
