Biography

THIS YEAR:  One of the most decorated players in the PacWest, 3-time all-conference honoree Fritz Oestreicher returns for his fourth season in the Cougar program, emerging as one of the key leaders of the team ... The most experienced Cougar on this year's roster, having started 40 of the 48 games he as played at Azusa Pacific over the past 3 years ... Will be the anchor of a young Cougar defense that it will find its way through the season.

2023: Named All-PacWest second team for the third straight year after starting all 16 games he played for Azusa Pacific while anchoring the back line… Recorded 1,337 minutes on the pitch, playing in all 90 minutes in 11 contests ... Registered 3 shots on goal… Helped the Cougars to 7 shutouts and another 2 games in which just a single goal was allowed.

2022: Named All-PacWest second team for the second year in a row… Saw action in 17 games with 14 starts for the Cougars… Totaled 1,425 minutes on the year with 12 complete games… Scored 2 goals on the year, including to go-ahead goal that broke a halftime tie in the Cougars' 5-2 victory over Hawaii-Hilo ... Helped lead the team to 3 clean sheets. 

2021: Transferred to Azusa Pacific and made an immediate impact ... Named All-PacWest second team and earned Academic All-PacWest distinction while helping lead the Cougars to a 12-3-2 record and their third straight PacWest championship and an NCAA Tournament appearance … Appeared in 15 games with 10 starts over 959 minutes on the back line …Collected 4 shots on goal… Helped the team to 7 shutouts and and was a key member of a defense that allowed just 15 goals in 17 games.

SAN DIEGO STATE:  Started his collegiate career at NCAA Division I San Diego State for a COVID-abbreviated 2020 season that was played in the spring of 2021 ... Appeared in 7 games for the 1-7-2 Aztecs, starting 5.
